Stephen was a fairly late starter to cricket and didn’t start playing until he was 14 when he joined Leicester Caribbean’s Cricket Club for 2 seasons before moving onto Stoughton and Thurnby CC, where he became Club Captain in 2011. He represented Leicestershire Young Cricketers at the age of 15 and played for the age groups until under 19’s. He was also a member of an LYC development Squad that toured India in 2005.
After finishing playing for the age groups Stephen started coaching for Leicestershire County Cricket Club, working in the indoor school on a variety of different activities including 1 to 1’s and group coaching, while also going out to deliver in schools alongside running Kwik cricket curtain raisers prior to matches.
Stephen also started to coach the LYC players and took over as district coordinator for the North district. Stephen has dedicated the majority of his time to the Women’s and Girls programme over the last 6 years.
Having worked for Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket in various capacities for several years Stephen became a Cricket Development Coach in 2012 and is now responsible for schools in the Leicester City, Oadby and Wigston, Blaby and Harborough and Rutland .
