To date I have been involved in cricket within Leicestershire and Rutland for over 30 years in many guises such as a player, coach, coach educator and County Welfare officer. I have played for several clubs including Loughborough Town CC, Quorn CC and recently a few games (when short of course these days) for Grace Dieu Park CC. I have been extremely fortunate to meet , work and play with many youngsters and adults during this time and enjoyed forming the friendships that our great game has to offer.
In my working career I have gained valuable experience and life skills. From leaving school I have served in Her Majesty’s armed forces, worked as a prison officer, a retained firefighter and most recently within the education sector as Head of Boarding. As you can imagine these roles have led to some challenging times and happy ones too. I have a passion for serving people and being supportive to those that may be vulnerable whilst enjoying guiding and mentoring others.
As a youngster the game presented me with so many wonderful memories which will always be cherished and I see in my role as County Welfare Officer that I help recreate these great experiences for all youngsters playing the game.
