Game 1- Group A
Week two of the All Stars indoor league saw the Leicester Strikers play their second game of the tournament and they were up against last years finalists Maher Stars. Maher Stars batted first and posted a competitive total of 80. They were helped by their two opening batsman who made the highest score out of all four skins with a total of 30 and they finished strongly too as the last pair made 27 runs, this being the second highest score of a Maher Stars batting pair. Vijal Vinay who opened for the Maher Stars made the highest score of 19. The Strikers were a much improved side than their last showing and competed throughout the whole game which was neck and neck for the duration of the fixture. They fought back brilliantly with the ball throughout the middle period between overs 4 and 12, Tim brown bowling immaculately conceding 2 runs from his two overs backed up by Mithun who conceded just the 2 runs in his allocated two overs also.
The strikers then made a good start with the bat as opening pair Veera and Mithun scored 23 in the first skin of four overs. Maher Stars however kept it tight, as the strikers did in the middle period leaving the batting side needing 19 to win from the last over. Mihir Tandel of Maher stars had different ideas however and bowled brilliantly finishing with 4 wickets to his name and helping the runners up from last year over the finish line. The strikers ended up with 62 runs in total, just 18 runs behind but had plenty of positives to take from the fixture as they put up a solid fight against a very good team in Maher stars.

Game 2- Group B
The second game to take place in week 2 of the indoor league was between the champions of last year, Team GG playing their first fixture of the tournament and Royton Melts who already had a win under their belt from week 1. Like the first game, this was a closely contested game between two very good sides. Royton Melts batted first and posted their second consecutive total of 100+ ending up on 119 after their 16 overs. Luke Gunn and Ben Silver were joint highest scorers for the Melts who both scored 24 runs each and they were involved in the two highest skins. Silver in the second skin of 42 runs and Gunn in the last skin of 45 runs. Bilal Pardesi and Naqash Sarwar both took 2 wickets a piece for Team GG.
Team GG started well with the bat winning the first skin scoring 27 runs, Bilal Pardesi contributing with the bat this time scoring 21 runs ably supported by Umar Afzal. The Melts however pulled it back in the second and third skin throughout the middle period with a combination of good bowling and brilliant fielding. Niki Patel was the main thorn in Team GG’s batting lineup as she took 3 wickets to add to her 10 runs with the bat and a terrific bit of fielding too saw her contributing to a one handed run out. Team GG scored heavily in the last skin scoring 45 which was the highest skin of the match with Umar Razaq top scoring with 28. He found able support in Khurrum Shakoor who made 17 runs also but Team GG ended up 24 runs short of Royton Melts’ total ending up on a total of 95 meaning they were off to a losing start in the tournament. They did however secure 2 skins and the player of the match was Bilal Pardesi who had a fine game overall with 2 wickets and 21 runs. Royton Melts sit nicely at the top of the group B with two wins from two
