On Thursday 28th August a group of BT employees took part in a team challenge at Leicester Electricity Sports CC. The team challenge saw 20 BT employees step out of their day jobs to give back to their local community and help with some much needed improvements to the off-field facilities at ground just off Aylestone Road.
The team was led by Neesa Ladd who’s organisational skills along with the enthusiastic approach of the team meant that all the planned tasks were completed.
All of the support was provided free of charge and the team of volunteers were able to complete the following jobs;
1. Dismantle and re-fix the permanent seating in front of the pavilion
2. Sand down and paint exterior door and windows on the ground floor of the pavilion
3. Paint kitchen sink unit and cupboards
4. Paint internal corridor doors
Leicester Electricity Sports Secretary Keith Webster had this to say about the support provided;
All of the tasks we had set were successfully completed and it can truly be said you made a difference. I hope our junior members who attended in the afternoon realised the efforts that it takes to provide the facilities for them to play and that they too will be volunteers in the future. We would be happy to have you back any time
