Foxes Development Programme designed to offer boys across Leicestershire and Rutland a coaching pathway to help fulfil their individual potential by offering a winter coaching programme that complements their club cricket.
The Programme is structured at three clear levels:
1. Bronze 2. Silver 3. Gold
The programme involves weekly hard ball cricket sessions at training centres across the county at all three levels for u11, u13 and u15 age groups. There will also be an u18 group and an Introduction to Cricket Soft Ball group for up to 11 years old.
The Development Programme runs for 18 weeks from November 2018 to March 2019.
Aims of the Foxes Development Programme:
• Graded coaching at Gold, Silver & Bronze levels throughout the county providing coaching to young cricketers of all abilities throughout the winter
• To identify and develop the most talented young cricketers in the county
• To help young players, whether at Gold, Silver or Bronze level, to become better cricketers and to help them to perform better in Club, School or representative matches by having set targets based on Key Performance Indicators deemed appropriate for each age group
• To provide all young players that show potential in Leicestershire & Rutland with the opportunity to progress by providing a clear structure at each level
Players are nominated by their club, school or a member of the coaching staff and will be invited to The Foxes Development Programme.
New players will enter the Programme at Bronze level and will be observed over the early weeks. Movement between levels will then take place where required, throughout the programme.
The groups will include those players who were part of the Development Programme from the previous year and County age group players from 2018 will also be invited to join the programme.

The course content will be a combination of drills and net based coaching each week with a coach to player ratio of 1:8
All centres will be coached by a combination of current LCCC coaches and new coaches who will join the staff to enable talent identification and player progression.
The Development Programme will run from the start of November 2018 to the end of March 2019 for 18 weeks with a break over the Christmas holidays. Sessions will take place during the February half term week.
County youth squads will be selected from trials that take place in April 2019. Following the 18-week programme the LCCC Coaches will recommend the players they feel have met the criteria to be invited to attend the trials.
