On Monday 27th March 2012, 6 teams from 4 Special Education Needs (SEN) schools took part in the Indoor Disability Kwik cricket competition.

Oaklands and West Gate took part in the primary competition which saw them do a skill based session before playing 2 Kwik cricket games which were narrowly won by West Gate.

In the U16 secondary competition, Ellesmere, West Gate and 2 teams from Maplewell Hall played in a round robin league. An impressive display from Ellesmere saw them win all 3 of their games to finish top of the league and win the competition. Both Maplewell teams showed promise as did West Gate who despite loosing their games showed improvement throughout.

All schools taking part showed great enthusiasm throughout the day. There was lots of praise and encouragement between the teams, displaying some really positive examples of the ‘Spirit or Cricket’
