The Lords Taverns City Cup (LTCC) team comprised mostly from players who had been nominated for their bowling.  Each bowled two overs in a T20 match. The game was played on a good track at Southgate CC ground, a Middlesex out ground, with County sized boundaries. The YC’s had 8 players present and were given three from LTCC squad .YC’s restricted to 131 for 8 with a combination of good bowling and exceptional catching. The LTCC made a good start with Ejaz Din, Pri Patel and Muhammed Bilal all contributing well. Only 30 were needed off last 6 overs but wickets were lost as new batsmen went for big shots rather take available singles. Only  Mustahsan Shah in the, middle order looking like he had the ability to score at necessary rate to win the game.  The game went down to 6 needed off the final ball to win which proved too much. Some of the running between wickets of the LTTC was too relaxed, singles were walked for powerful shots to the boundary with no attempt to push fielders. Additionally often they settled for two when 3 could have been on.

Congratulations to Priyank Patel from Hinckley Town Cricket Club Leicestershire who goes through to a day at Lords on September 29th .
