It was a red-letter day for Bowden CC when their Junior Co-ordinator, Lucy Hobbs, was invited to attend the tenth NatWest OSCAs awards reception at Lords on Monday 22 October. Along with the 400 other attendees representing every county in the land and clubs large and small, Lucy and husband, Simon, were entertained by top cricket personalities, such as Michael Vaughan, Andrew Strauss, Johnny Bairstow and Charlotte Edwards; and all compared by Test Match Special’s, Jonathan Agnew.
Lucy had been nominated for the Building Partnerships award by Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket and her club, primarily for work in growing the Women’s and Girls’ section for Bowden CC and also for the Chance to Shine programme. On the day, that award went to the very deserving Paul Daniels from Kent. However, “the best part of the day was meeting like-minded volunteers from all over England who give up their time willingly to help youth teams and for the general good of their clubs,” said Lucy. “And by the end of our day at Lords we all felt very well thanked, indeed!”
The team at Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket would like to once again thank Lucy for all her hard work.
