Every two years the Sport and Recreation Alliance conducts a survey to find out about the financial health of sports clubs in the UK.
We have been working closely with the Alliance to gather information that can help save cricket clubs money; as a result 479 cricket clubs have completed the survey to date, with a closing date of the end of May.
This is fantastic because it also gives the ECB information on how we can best meet your needs, but there is still time to hear from more clubs!
If your cricket club has not completed the survey please do so at your earliest convenience as it will really help our game.
“Grassroots sport and recreation relies on tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers who work hard to balance the books and help clubs stay afloat. But we need to hear their experiences first hand so the Sport and Recreation Alliance can make the most powerful case on behalf of the sector.”
Mark Ramprakash, Cricketer
The data from this survey is used by the Sport and Recreation Alliance to make a real case for grassroots sport when lobbying Parliamentarians and the Minister for Sport on issues such as:
- Lower business and utility rates
- Reduced rates for alcohol licensing
- Reduced rates of VAT on for example, facility hire
As a thank you for completing the survey there is also a prize draw to win one of a number of prizes including a session for your club with a financial expert who will advise on reducing your bills and provide money-saving tips, or two tickets to the Wimbledon Championships!
