Syston Town Cricket Club hosted their second Inclusive Festival on 21st May 2013.

54 children from Maplewell Hall, Birkett House, Nether Hall, West Gate and Ellesmere College gathered at Syston for a day full of fun activities and team games.

6 skill stations, which included batting, bowling, catching and throwing, were set up for each school to rotate around whilst receiving some coaching and guidance from the Syston coaches and some ‘Inspire to Lead’ volunteers. After lunch, the schools were put together and spread over 3 pitches for some fun kwik cricket games, this was also great opportunity for the schools to socialise with one another and try out some skills they had practiced earlier in the day.

We were also happy to welcome England Women’s Cricketers and Chance to Shine Ambassadors Jenny Gunn and Danielle Hazell who got involved with some bowling and fielding during the games and also signed autograph sheets for every child who came along to the day.

It was once again another fantastic day, and thankfully the weather was on our side. Many thanks to the Syston Coaches, the Inspire to Lead volunteers from Ellesmere who did a wonderful job and to Jenny and Danielle who all did their part to make the day a success.
