Two more Leicestershire & Rutland cricket clubs with junior sections have successfully achieved Clubmark Accreditation during 2013. This brings the total number of cricket clubs based in the county who have achieved this prestigious award to forty. The award is made in recognition of the work undertaken by a club in recognising the importance of safeguarding children within the game and its commitment to developing and implementing policies and procedures which ensures a duty of care for children.
Having met the evidence based criteria and successfully demonstrated practical ‘coaching’ delivery within a safe and youngster friendly environment both Newtown Linford Cricket Club (August 2013) and Ibstock Town Cricket Club (September 2013) were award the accreditation, which subject to a successful annual ‘health checks’ will remain in place for an initial period of three years.
All Clubmark accredited clubs are required to undertake the full reaccreditation process during the third year in order to retain the award. During 2013, the following ten clubs, Barkby United, Broomleys, Egerton Park, Hinckley Amateur, Leicester Ivanhoe, Loughborough Town, Market Harborough, Newbold Verdon, Oakham and Shepshed Town have all successfully completed the reaccreditation process for a further three years.
