Will Jones and Paul Dixey both Leicestershire CCC players visited Uppingham Community College (UCC) on Wednesday 4th July. The school who are part of the Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket chance to shine programme were winners of the County Brit Insurance National Cricket Day (NCD) competition.

The school organised some Intra school games on 22nd May (NCD) at their local cricket club, Uppingham Town following the coaching delivered as part of the c2s programme. The students were given an opportunity to enjoy a visit to the club where they played and officiated their own matches.

Along with match tickets and a signed bat, the school were provided with a player visit to inspire their students to choose cricket. Will Jones and Paul Dixey were also able to present Rob Lewin (UCC) with a c2s school equipment bag so they can continue to deliver cricket throughout the year.

The other competition winners were St Josephs Primary (Market Harborough) and Bridge Junior (Leicester) who were also awarded signed bats and match tickets.

Leicestershire and Rutland Cricket would like to thank both players, Leicestershire CCC and all the schools who took part in National Cricket Day.
