The Women’s league, now in it’s 3rd year, has split into two leagues for 2018 with the aim of providing the right level of competition for women playing the game or looking to get into cricket. The Development League focuses on new or inexperienced players and provides a more social level of competition. The Performance League, starting on 21st February, is aimed at current and experienced players looking for a more competitive level of competition.

Our Development League involves Women’s teams from Countesthorpe CC, Sileby Town CC, Electricity Sports CC, University of Leicester and Street Starz, a team from our Female Street Projects, and last night saw the 4th round of fixtures completed with all 5 teams recording victories at Hamilton Academy.

Each week we have seen every team and individual improve their skills and there is a great social occasion with sporting and friendly interaction between teams, who also help each other if a team is a player short for the night!

In Week 4, Electricity Sports continued their unbeaten run in the league winning all 3 of their games. Sileby Town’s development team made up of brand new players to the game recorded their 2nd win. Wins for University of Leicester, Countesthorpe and Street Starz means they stay in touch with the in form Electricity Sports.
