The re-launched LRC Women’s Indoor League drew to a close last night (2nd March) at Regent College, with Leicester University Women’s Cricket finishing as much deserved winners.

It was another week of exciting cricket and fantastic performances as Sileby Town Ladies did all they could to closeon Leicester University’s lead. Despite Leicester Uni losing both their games on the night, their previous dominance in the league proved too much for the other teams.

The final round also saw further wins for Countesthorpe Ladies, Mira’s 6 and Kibworth Ladies. All three teams improved a great deal over the 6 weeks of competition.

IMG_0186The whole essence of the competition was embraced by all 5 teams, giving chances to new and developing players and all the fixtures were played in a great spirit between all teams.

The Talent Cricket Outstanding Players of the night again went to two players. Firstly, Kibworth’s Anita took home her £10 voucher as she made her highest score of the league and took a great catch. The second voucher went to Countesthorpe’s captain Emma, who had lead the team well over the 6 weeks and smashed her team to victory with bat against Mira’s 6.
