Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket are working in partnership with Blind Cricket England & Wales to deliver a Blind Cricket taster session.  The BCEW have been working in partnership with British Blind Sport and the England and Wales Cricket Board since 2006 to deliver competitive cricket for those who are blind or partially sighted running national and international competitions.

The taster session is taking place on Sunday March 16th at Sports Leagues Leicester. The session will start at 10am and run until 2pm. Do not worry if you cannot make the start time, we are happy for you to drop in and out of the session as you wish.

Supporting LRC Disability Officer Tom Leonard will be BCEW Development Officer John Garbett and the Secretary of the British Blind Sport Cricket Committee Geoff Smith. Both John and Geoff have international honours. Gary Bass who is on the coaching staff for the England Visually Impaired Squad will also be attending to help run some drills and games. All individuals supporting the event are ECB/UKCC Level 2 qualified coaches or above.

Whilst the partnership between LRC and BCEW has a main aim of creating a high performance representative side in Leicestershire, the taster will have a large emphasis on simply having fun. Whether you are new to cricket or not, we welcome players of any ability with any level of experience. Of course parents and carers can get involved in the fun too!

If you have any questions about the day or to confirm your attendance at the session please contact Tom Leonard – tom@leicestershirecricket.co.uk / 07821 839 252
