Club Cricket

There are currently 14 cricket clubs with developing girls sections and 5 cricket clubs with a Women’s squad. Leicestershire & Rutland Cricket are working closely with these clubs to ensure there are more opportunities for Women and Girls to get involved in the sport, as a beginner or a keen cricketer.

Please click here for the list of clubs their contact details.

We have also created a new pathway (below) which shows clear paths from school and club to further playing and representative opportunities.

W&G Pathway

As well as working with the local clubs, we also run a Chance to Shine Street programme at Cossington Street. These sessions are aimed at engaging the girls in Leicester City in some fun and casual forms of cricket.

LRC are developing a number of leagues to increase the participation of females in cricket and increase the playing opportunities for new or current players.

The leagues include a Women & Girls indoor league, a Women’s outdoor local outdoor league and we are working towards having a sustainable and structured girls league for those clubs with girls sections.
