2015 marks the 9th year of the awards established by the Lord-Lieutenant, Lady Gretton. This award scheme seeks to identify, celebrate and reward the very best examples of achievement by young people in Leicester and Leicestershire. The Lord-Lieutenant’s Award for Young People focuses on five key themes and nominations will need to demonstrate that the young person has made a contribution to society.
This Year’s awards once again includes: Young Most Improved Sports Person of the Year Award ; to be given to an individual who has:
- Made significant progress in the field of sport over the past 12 months
- Demonstrate promise, dedication and determination
- Exceeded expectations in their sporting performance or made a big difference to a team.
