Vale of Catmose College triumphed in the girls Year 7 indoor final on Wednesday 27th February, taking away the School Sports Super Series trophy and qualifying for the regional final of the Lady Taverners U13.  Big congratulations to them and to Soar Valley who took away the “Spirit of the Games Award” for their display of teamsmanship and fair play.  All awards were presented by Leicestershire CCC’s Shiv Thakor who came to support the day.

5 teams took part in the finals day; Vale of Catmose College, Soar Valley College, Market Bosworth High School, Castle Donnington High School and Castle Rock High School.  Teams competed in a round robin format, with each team playing 4 games.  A high standard of cricket was played by all teams present and it was a testament to the rising profile of girls cricket in Leicestershire that the quality of batting and bowling on display was very impressive.

Thanks are due to Paul Taylor from Leicester-shire and Rutland Sport for his support on the day, the young leaders from Lancaster School and to umpires Ken Kilby and Kevin Smyth.
